Softball Game Preview: North Eugene Highlanders vs. Eagle Point Eagles

For the second straight game, North Eugene will face off against Eagle Point. The Highlanders will host the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Eugene is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

North Eugene is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Eagle Point just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-8.

Delaney McElravy put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. McElravy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Anderson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Camden DeWitt, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.

North Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Eagle Point, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.
