Baseball Game Preview: Wilcox County Patriots vs. Schley County Wildcats

The Wilcox County Patriots will challenge the Schley County Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wilcox County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bryan County with a sharp 14-6 win. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on three straight.

Johnny Nutt made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nutt was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bo Bloodworth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Myles Davis, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Wilcox County pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Schley County, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11.
