Volleyball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Smithville Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

Greely Simpson paced Central's offense, picking up five kills. Simpson got some help from Hayden Root and her nine assists.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Smithville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Jefferson City on the 20th. As for Smithville, they will challenge St. Pius X at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
