Volleyball Recap: West Florence's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

West Florence was the 2-1 winner over Sumter when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell just short of the Gamecocks by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, West Florence sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-22.

Drew Wilson paced West Florence's offense, picking up 14 kills. Wilson got some help from Ethan Pham and his 27 assists. Finally, Wilson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

West Florence's loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-13. As for Sumter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, West Florence and Sumter will both be playing Blythewood the next time they take the court. The Knights will host the Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Gamecocks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
