Baseball Recap: Shawnee Mission South Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission South fell victim to Lawrence Free State and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 1-0. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Shawnee Mission South's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-2. As for Lawrence Free State, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee Mission South will take on St. James Academy on Wednesday. As for Lawrence Free State, they will square off against Olathe Northwest on Thursday.
