Preview: Comstock Colts vs. Bloomingdale Cardinals
Comstock is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Cardinals a 16-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Comstock Colts will take on the Bloomingdale Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
While Comstock couldn't quite beat the Tigers on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 30-point defeat they were dealt on Monday. Comstock fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 47-45.
Meanwhile, Bloomingdale had to suffer through a rough 66-27 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Bloomingdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 738th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 274th).
Comstock has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Bloomingdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Comstock skirted past the Cardinals 51-48 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Comstock repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
