Basketball Preview: Duanesburg Eagles vs. Columbia Blue Devils
After two games on the road, Duanesburg is heading back home. They will take on the Columbia Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
In what's become a running theme this season, Duanesburg gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Mayfield with a sharp 73-48 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-27.
Meanwhile, Columbia waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 72-55 victory over Guilderland. Given Columbia's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Flying Dutchmen are ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Duanesburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Columbia, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6.
