Softball Recap: Steele Comets vs. Perry Panthers
Steele and Perry squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Steele had to settle for second. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Comets have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Karina Shuster put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.
Shuster wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Thomas-Friend, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Steele's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Perry, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-17-1.
Steele does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perry, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Green on the 30th.
