Basketball Game Preview: Coronado Mustangs vs. Palo Duro Dons

The Coronado Mustangs will face off against the Palo Duro Dons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Coronado and five for Palo Duro.

Coronado came up into this matchup off a tough 47-point defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Lubbock-Cooper by a score of 44-42 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Palo Duro was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 41-36 to Lubbock-Cooper.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Palo Duro, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Coronado and Palo Duro were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but Coronado came up empty-handed after a 36-35 loss.
