Baseball Recap: Grants Falls Short of St. Pius X in the Playoffs

Grants and St. Pius X squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Grants had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Sartans by a score of 3-2. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Sartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Grants' loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for St. Pius X, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Grants does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Pius X, they will challenge Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Sartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
