Preview: Richwood Lumberjacks vs. Highland Rams
After four games on the road, Richwood is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Highland Rams at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Richwood is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Highland in their respective states (Richwood is ranked 49th in West Virginia, while Highland is ranked 304th in Virginia).
Last Thursday, Richwood came up short against Bath County and fell 62-52. Richwood has struggled against Bath County recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Grant Russell, who scored 22 points. He scored a full 42.3% of Richwood's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Trivolette, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Highland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 59-48 victory over Bath County. That looming 59-48 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Highland yet this season.
Richwood bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Highland, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
