The St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins are headed away from home for the first time to take on the American Canyon Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent is headed out to face American Canyon after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. St. Patrick-St. Vincent's pitchers stepped up to hand Drew a 24-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bruins as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Dominic Petersen was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Bo Smith was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Thacker, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .775. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Drew only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, American Canyon had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Wood. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wolves have posted since April 11, 2024.
Royce Hall made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hall was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Mason Harris was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Matthew Schmaling, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to American Canyon when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can St. Patrick-St. Vincent avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
