Volleyball Recap: Avon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

While Avon's win against Plainfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Orioles had just enough and edged out the Quakers 3-2 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Orioles as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The win didn't come easy: Plainfield scored at least 15 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 22-25, 17-15.

Avon's offense was headlined by Ethan Kondas and James Butler, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Cameron James and his 15 assists. Finally, Levi Reymann kept Avon's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-13. As for Plainfield, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

Avon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Pike on the 6th. As for Plainfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Perry Meridian on the 6th.
