Basketball Recap: Mathews Takes a Loss

Mathews lost against King & Queen Central back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mathews Blue Devils fell 48-41 to the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

King & Queen Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ky'Juana Hence out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hence a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Hill, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 17 points.

Mathews' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for King & Queen Central, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.

Mathews didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 31-30 loss against Charles City on the 16th. King & Queen Central has also already played their next game, a 64-37 defeat against West Point on the 16th.
