Softball Recap: Portage Indians vs. Hanover Central Wildcats
Portage came out on top against Hanover Central on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Indians took their game against the Wildcats 5-2. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.
Hope Heldt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Miley Prance was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Erin Fausch, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one double.
