After a string of 18 wins, Beachside's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Brantley Patriots.

Adriana Jeanpierre paced Beachside's offense, picking up 12 kills. Jeanpierre got some help from Mollie VanDeusen and her 14 assists. VanDeusen also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Isabella Taveras Seda, each putting up two.

Lake Brantley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lila Varitek led the charge by getting six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Varitek has posted over her last five matches. Ava White also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Beachside's loss dropped their record down to 21-2. As for Lake Brantley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Beachside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against DME Academy on the 4th. As for Lake Brantley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Winter Park on the 4th.
