League recap: Goshen scores huge upset over Highland Home

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Highland Home, who took down 291st ranked Highland Home, 30-15.

Elba was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in 2A Region 3. The Tigers vanquished Calhoun 50-6 earlier in the week.

Elba's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Austin Johnson threw for 210 and three touchdowns and Reid Rials had 83 yards receiving. On the ground Rajah Caldwell chipped in 100 yards. Shannon James helped Elba's passing attack out by catching five balls for 75 yards.

Elba's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 905 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Rials has 20 catches for 335 yards. Darrean Burks leads the league in rushing with 391 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when New Brockton takes on Luverne. At the moment, the Gamecocks are in fourth, while the Tigers are in first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Scott Rials' team takes on the Flying Squadron. The Tigers have allowed 95 points this season, while Highland Home has given up 154. Elba allowed 6 points last week as it bested the Tigers.

New Brockton took down Central 50-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
