Recap: Clover Hill Cavaliers vs. Cosby Titans

The Clover Hill Cavaliers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-34 loss at the hands of Cosby. Clover Hill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-17.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nia Evans, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Prisha Gupta was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.

Cosby found their leader in underclassman Miah Carter, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Talley, who scored nine points.

Clover Hill's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Cosby, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Clover Hill will head out on the road to take on L.C. Bird at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Clover Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 184th, while L.C. Bird is ranked 41st). As for Cosby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richmond City School of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cosby is facing Richmond City School of the Arts at the right time seeing as Richmond City School of the Arts is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
