Softball Game Preview: Firebaugh Falcons vs. Bellflower Buccaneers

Firebaugh hasn't had much luck against Bellflower recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Falcons will head out to square off against the Buccaneers at 3:15 p.m. Firebaugh has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Firebaugh came up short against Norwalk on Tuesday, falling 19-5. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Camila Curumaco made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Alexis Galindo, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Bellflower was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to Saint Joseph. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Jesters recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Firebaugh now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Bellflower, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Firebaugh skirted past Bellflower 11-10 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
