Basketball Game Preview: Pershing Doughboys vs. Denby Tars

The Pershing Doughboys are taking a road trip to square off against the Denby Tars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pershing will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

On Monday, Pershing blew past Central, posting a 48-7 victory. The Doughboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Denby ended up a good deal behind Communication Media Arts two weeks ago and lost 38-23. The Tars have struggled against the Pharaohs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Pershing's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.8 points per game. As for Denby, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Everything went Pershing's way against Denby in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, as Pershing made off with a 59-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pershing since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
