Softball Recap: Newman Smith Comes Up Short

Newman Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Reedy Lions, falling 19-0. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newman Smith's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Reedy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-9.

Newman Smith has already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Highland Park on the 21st. As for Reedy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-0 victory against Turner on the 19th.
