Basketball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood lost against Lakeside Lutheran back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Edgewood Crusaders took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors. The match marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wes Rahn was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds for Lakeside Lutheran. That's the most points Rahn has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Krauklis, who posted 13 points.

Edgewood dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lakeside Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

When Edgewood and Lakeside Lutheran next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Edgewood will try to stop Mount Horeb's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Lakeside Lutheran will try to stop New Glarus' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
