Baseball Recap: Lakeland Hawks vs. Lewiston Bengals

Lakeland extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 5-15 in the process. They lost 9-2 to the Lewiston Bengals. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-3 loss on Saturday.

Lakeland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tadgh Ellwood, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Lewiston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 17-7).

On Lewiston's side, they got a great performance from Jayden Estlund as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Estlund has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Guy Krasselt was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Lewiston: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-12 otherwise. Grady Peterson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Lakeland will head out on the road to face off against Post Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewiston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
