Basketball Game Preview: Vanguard College Prep Vikings vs. Texas School for the Deaf Rangers

The Vanguard College Prep Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Texas School for the Deaf Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Texas School for the Deaf will be up against a hot Vanguard College Prep team: the squad just extended their winning streak to ten. Everything went Vanguard College Prep's way against Veritas Academy on Tuesday as Vanguard College Prep made off with a 52-28 win.

Meanwhile, Texas School for the Deaf made easy work of Concordia on Tuesday and carried off a 47-27 victory. The Rangers pushed the score to 42-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals cut but never quite recovered from.

Vanguard College Prep's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points per game. As for Texas School for the Deaf, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.

Vanguard College Prep took their win against Texas School for the Deaf in their previous meeting on January 11th by a conclusive 70-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vanguard College Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
