Soccer Game Preview: Piedmont vs. Porter Ridge + How To Watch

Piedmont is 0-10 against Porter Ridge since August of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will host the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Piedmont came up short against Cuthbertson on Wednesday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Piedmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Cuthbertson are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Porter Ridge kept a clean sheet against Charlotte Catholic on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cougars 1-0. Porter Ridge's winning goal came courtesy of Sammy Tello.

Porter Ridge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Piedmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-4.
