Basketball Game Preview: Goodhue Wildcats vs. Rushford-Peterson Trojans

Goodhue has gone a perfect 3-0 against Rushford-Peterson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Goodhue Wildcats will host the Rushford-Peterson Trojans at 11:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Goodhue is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since January 16th two weeks ago. They had just enough and edged out St. Peter 67-65. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st in Minnesota, while the Saints are ranked 106th in Minnesota), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Rushford-Peterson rose to the challenge on Monday. They strolled past the Rebels with points to spare, taking the game 58-39. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won four games in a row.

Goodhue has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Rushford-Peterson's victory bumped their record up to 19-11.

Everything came up roses for Goodhue against Rushford-Peterson in their previous matchup back in February of 2018, as the squad secured a 69-35 win. Does Goodhue have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rushford-Peterson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
