Football Recap: Washington County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shawnee last Friday, Washington County came back down to earth. The Commanders had to suffer through a 38-8 loss at the hands of the Lexington Christian Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Commanders in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Washington County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lexington Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Washington County will challenge Bardstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lexington Christian, they will square off against Pleasure Ridge Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
