Basketball Recap: Bakersfield Takes a Loss

Bakersfield was the 52-40 winner over Van Buren when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bakersfield Lions fell 76-66 to the Van Buren Bulldogs on Monday.

Bakersfield's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Van Buren, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions duke it out with the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Van Buren, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Koshkonong at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Van Buren knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Koshkonong likes a good challenge.
