Baseball Recap: Jones Takes a Loss

Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Colonial Grenadiers, falling 15-4. The Fightin' Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Grenadiers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Jones saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malachi Porter, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Another was Adam Valme, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Jones' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Colonial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jones will take on Wekiva in a tournament on Wednesday. Jones has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Colonial, they will be taking part in a tournament against Edgewater at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewater is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
