Basketball Recap: Columbia Central Takes a Loss

Columbia Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spring Hill Raiders. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Emma Sharp was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points and eight steals for Spring Hill. Those eight steals gave Sharp a new career-high. Alayzia Harrison was another key player, earning 11 points.

Columbia Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Spring Hill, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Central has already played their next contest (against Shelbyville Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Spring Hill will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Coffee County Central at 6:00 p.m. Coffee County Central will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something Spring Hill surely won't give up without a fight.
