Baseball Recap: North Catholic Takes a Loss

North Catholic fell victim to Hampton and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Talbots. The match marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Caden Williams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, North Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josef Safar, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Safar hit this season.

North Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Hampton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-8.

While North Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
