Baseball Game Preview: Servite Friars vs. Santa Margarita Eagles

For the second straight game, Servite will face off against Santa Margarita. The Friars will be playing at home against the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Servite 3.2, Santa Margarita 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Servite and Santa Margarita meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Friars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-4 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Friars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Servite's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-11. As for Santa Margarita, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.
