Basketball Recap: IDEA Montopolis Takes a Loss

If IDEA Montopolis was riding high fresh off their 70-30 takedown of Idea Pflugerville last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. IDEA Montopolis fell 65-57 to the Founders Classical Academy Archers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for IDEA Montopolis in their matchups with Founders Classical Academy: they've now lost four in a row.

Founders Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colton Jones led the charge by dropping a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards. What's more, Jones also posted a 64% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in March of 2024. Caleb Kelly was another key player, going 6-for-15 on his way to 21 points.

IDEA Montopolis' loss dropped their record down to 26-7. As for Founders Classical Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

IDEA Montopolis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Founders Classical Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-43 defeat against Valor South Austin on the 1st.
