Basketball Recap: Marshwood Takes a Loss

Marshwood lost against York back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marshwood Hawks fell to the York Wildcats 49-45. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Wildcats are ranked eighth).

Marshwood has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for York, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Marshwood will face off against Biddeford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Biddeford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Marshwood likes a good challenge. As for York, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cape Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
