Football Game Preview: McAdory Yellowjackets vs. Briarwood Christian Lions + Official Tickets

The McAdory Yellowjackets will take on the Briarwood Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

McAdory is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bessemer City on Thursday. The Yellowjackets took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Briarwood Christian). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over Hayden. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Wildcats are ranked 290th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Briarwood Christian found their leader in sophomore Jamison Barnes, who rushed for 56 yards and four scores on only seven carries, and also threw for 107 yards and one touchdown on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Sam Canale was another key player, picking up 115 receiving yards and one TD.

McAdory's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Briarwood Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

McAdory might still be hurting after the 55-35 defeat they got from Briarwood Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2024.
