Basketball Game Preview: DeRidder Dragons vs. Singer Hornets

The DeRidder Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Singer Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. DeRidder will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Monday, DeRidder was beaten by Lake Charles College Prep 53-26. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 144th).

Meanwhile, Singer came up short against Stanley on Monday, falling 43-20. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Singer's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-6. As for DeRidder, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

DeRidder might still be hurting after the 54-34 defeat they got from Singer in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can DeRidder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
