Baseball Game Preview: Foss Falcons vs. Fife Trojans

For the second straight game, Foss will face off against Fife. The Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Foss comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Foss lost 21-2 to Fife on Tuesday.

For Fife's part, Miles Ducharme and Evan Reece were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ducharme pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Reece pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ducharme has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ducharme went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Reece went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Fife is undefeated when Ducharme posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Christiansen, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rocco Gonzales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Fife always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Foss' defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Fife, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-9.
