Softball Recap: Pitman Comes Up Short

If Pitman was feeling good fresh off their 13-4 takedown of Downey on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pride came up short against the Gregori Jaguars on Thursday, falling 17-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Pride in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ivy Butler led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Shelby Woods, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Pitman's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Gregori, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gregori beat Pitman by a score of 11-0 later that day.
