Preview: Springdale Prep Lions vs. Grace Brethren Christian
The Springdale Prep Lions will head out on the road to face off against Grace Brethren Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Springdale Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Springdale Prep won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Riverdale Baptist on the road and fell 74-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Springdale Prep has scored all season.
Springdale Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anya Neufeld, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds, and Samayria Burrison who scored no points. Neufeld hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for nine straight games.
Meanwhile, Grace Brethren Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 51-32 to Takoma Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grace Brethren Christian in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.
Springdale Prep's record now sits at 22-22. Grace Brethren Christian's record is now 5-8.
