Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Onaga). Everything went their way against the Valley Heights Mustangs on Thursday as they made off with  a  24-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won 14 matches by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Willow Hochstedler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). Hochstedler was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 In other batting news,  Addison DeChant was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Annie Force, who  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Onaga  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 21  hits. They are  a perfect 12-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Onaga has  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Heights, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record  this season.
 Onaga wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  match,  an  11-3  win against Wabaunsee on the 5th. Valley Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
