Basketball Recap: Holtville Piles Up the Points Against Warner

Holtville won the last time they faced Warner and things went their way on Saturday too. The Holtville Vikings blew past the Warner Wildcats 57-21. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Vikings had established a 32 point advantage.

Despite the defeat, Warner saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Malachi Lozano posted ten points and five rebounds. That's the most points Lozano has posted since back in December of 2023.

Holtville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Warner, their loss dropped their record down to 3-4.

Holtville will head out on the road to face off against Preuss UCSD at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Preuss UCSD knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Holtville likes a good challenge. As for Warner, they will venture away from home to take on Guajome Park Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
