Independence won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way  on Monday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp  13-5 victory. Considering the Patriots have won 14 matchups by more than six  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Kenzie Pierce spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 At the plate, Independence got a  massive  performance out of  Kassidy Bradbury, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  Bradbury has posted since back in March.  Emma Simpson also deserves some recognition as  she  launched her first  home run of the season.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Independence  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in four consecutive  games.
Independence has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record  this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will welcome Logan  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Liberty, they will host Summers County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
