Soccer Game Preview: Freeport vs. Deer Lakes

Freeport hasn't had much luck against Deer Lakes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will challenge the Lancers at 7:30 p.m.

Freeport is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Highlands on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Golden Rams by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Lakes). They put the hurt on Valley with a sharp 19-2 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but Deer Lakes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Deer Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Freeport, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8-1.

Freeport might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Deer Lakes when the teams last played back in September. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
