Softball Game Preview: Lennox Academy Panthers vs. Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators

The Lennox Academy Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lennox Academy has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lennox Academy came up short against Leuzinger on Wednesday, falling 19-1. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lennox Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valeria Lopez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawthorne Math & Science Academy). They blew past Elizabeth 25-7 last Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

With the victory, Hawthorne Math & Science Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8. As for Lennox Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Lennox Academy took their win against Hawthorne Math & Science Academy in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
