Noah Cunningham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Max Kruth was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Axel Sutherland was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mount Calvary Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Shalom Christian Academy a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday.
Like Christian School of York, Mount Calvary Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: David Zamora. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Zamora a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Zamora wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Hubler, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Hubler has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Christian School of York pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mount Calvary Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
