Basketball Recap: Harley Allendale Columbia Starts Season with Loss at Home

Harley Allendale Columbia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the School of the Arts Silverhawks by a score of 57-54 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 59-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2017.

When it comes to explaining why Harley Allendale Columbia lost, don't look at Cadence Brecker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Brecker's evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Smith, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Harley Allendale Columbia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-19 victory against Northstar Christian Academy on the 6th. As for School of the Arts, they will challenge Edison Tech at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
