Baseball Recap: Lassen Has No Trouble Against Anderson

Lassen and Anderson faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Friday. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Cubs. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Landon Madrid looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Peyton Garate was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Joey Harrison was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Lassen's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Anderson, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Lassen and Anderson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Grizzlies (ranked 432nd) will meet McClatchy (ranked 70th) at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Anderson will take on West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd with a big rank disadvantage (1177 vs. 322).
