Volleyball Game Preview: Mount Notre Dame vs. Edgewood Cougars

After both having extra time off, Mount Notre Dame and the Edgewood Cougars will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Mount Notre Dame got the win against Springboro by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for Mount Notre Dame in their matchups with Springboro: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Notre Dame to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charlie Hatfield, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Hatfield has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Camden Reisert, who had six digs and four aces.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Edgewood, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Preble Shawnee with a sharp 3-0 victory last Wednesday.

Edgewood was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-18.

Edgewood now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Mount Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Everything went Mount Notre Dame's way against Edgewood when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Mount Notre Dame made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Mount Notre Dame repeat their success, or does Edgewood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
