Baseball Game Preview: North East Carolina Prep Husky vs. Beddingfield Bruins

The North East Carolina Prep Husky will be taking part in a tournament against the Beddingfield Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North East Carolina Prep has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 24.

North East Carolina Prep made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bertie, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Husky fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Husky have suffered since March 13th.

Andrew Sessoms spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North East Carolina Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jarrett Warren, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Beddingfield was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They lost 13-2 to Fike.

Beddingfield's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for North East Carolina Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

North East Carolina Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Beddingfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. Will the Husky repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
