Basketball Recap: Arkansas City Comes Up Short

Arkansas City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Goddard Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-47 back in January.

Arkansas City's loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Goddard, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arkansas City will host Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goddard, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering Goddard has lost three straight at home and Eisenhower seven straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
